【汉译英 Chinese to English】
屈原是第一个使用幽默这个词的人，意思是安静，而林语堂则是第一个把英语单词humor翻译成幽默的人，从此让幽默这个词语有了现在的意思。
附注：
（1）“幽默”一词最早出现于屈原《九章·怀沙》中的“煦兮杳杳，孔静幽默”，然而这里的释义是安静。
（2）现在所指的“幽默”则是英文“Humor”的音译，是林语堂在1924年的翻译中把二者连在了一起。
（3）林译在当时是有争议的，比如鲁迅就认为humor译成幽默不妥，会让人误解为静默的意思，但最终林译被广泛接受。
（4）林语堂曾在文章中说中国文化缺乏幽默。
"character"用"word"更好，因为是一个词，而非字。"While"可以去掉。

Qu Yuan was the first person who use the word “幽默” which meant “quiet”, while Lin Yutang was the first one who translate the English word of humor into “幽默”, and the word “幽默” has the current meaning ever since.
"translate" should be past tense "translated". Other than that, you did a really good job.
