All these moves by Trump like 'America First' and MAGA, the freakout over Huawei, the trade war, pathetic blame games over the pandemic, ... are not moves from a position of strength but rather of weakness and panic.
The American establishment realizes its too late to contain China and are not scrambling. The best time to contain China and thwart its rise was during the first term of George W Bush in 2001, remember the collision of the American spy plane and the downing of the Chinese fighter jet and subsequent incarceration of the American crew? That manufactured incident was supposed to be a Gulf of Tonkin Incident needed by Uncle Sam to begin the containment and control of China. But alas Fate intervened to help China didn't it? Pity America that it was distracted by that incident on September 11 2001. If I were prone to believing conspiracy theories, one would think Osama Bin Laden were a Chinese agent used to distract America in a bogus and expensive 'War on Terror' and buy China another decade of time to develop and self-strengthen!!

换个思路，美国没法制约中国了，但起码还能制约印度。假如美国傻到继续扶持印度，结果不但不能制衡中国，还多了第二个竞争对手。
