《纽约时报》称，强生公司在一份声明中说，过去几周一直有批评说其旗下的露得清（Neutrogena）和可伶可俐（Clean＆Clear）产品标榜白皮肤更胜原本的肤色。强生澄清说，“这绝非我们的本意，健康的皮肤就是美丽的皮肤。”
报道称，露得清和可伶可俐产品线并未在美国销售，而是在中东和亚洲销售。该公司表示，很快会将现售产品下架，未来也不会再生产这些美白产品。
