调查严谨一点的话,应该到U of Arkansas的CS系去问, 看shen AP是不是从第一年employment起就是tenure track, 我不是CS领域的, 其他领域里有第一年不是tenure track, 第二年再转成tenure track的, 不过我知道的那些领域不是tenure track是写visiting prof or visiting AP at most. 把一段时间的visiting AP和后来的AP浑写, 擦边球 (oh, once again)还能理解.
MS funding这么白纸黑字的eligibility要是就这么浑水摸鱼进去了, 真是算jaws on the floor的事情了. 到现在还是有点不太相信.

她是在U arkansas的第一年就拿了nsf sole PI的funding了?
是有non tenure-track AP. 但是师太在啊啃撒应该是tenure-track的，这个应该去confirm一下。而且她那时就得到了两个nsf funding了，nsf会给non tenure-track的么？

我的经验这是基本不可能的, eligibility应该是第一审的,而且是底下的人看,不eligible的直接扔掉
拿到点头的那些人那里去的list里应该没有不符合eligibility的.
不eligible就申请的我知道次次有, 而且N多, 这关是肯定先把的.

我的经验这是基本不可能的, eligibility应该是第一审的,而且是底下的人看,不eligible的直接扔掉

更好的法子是找个好的an lawyer, 弄个class action lawsuit，这个可以换好多包包。
我要求低,一个COACH就满足了
那个时候能读中专是很多人第一选择然后才是高中。可见博士学习一直很好很努力。只是英语也。。。怎么教书阿？

要是clemson的人提名的, 他们难道不知道MS的规定??? 他们显然知道clemson不是师太的first faculty appointment,
2009年MS award申请的具体时间找不到, 但是从这两个网页综合看, 只有一个月的申请窗口, 应该是2009年10月到11月

Haiying Shen, who defended her dissertation last March, joined the University of Arkansas in July as a tenure-track assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. Her dissertation is entitled “Toward Scalable and Efficient Peer-to-Peer Networks.”
师太确实是2006年7月开始的tenure-track AP position. 2009年11月的时候已经超过3年了. 所以, 白纸黑字的不符合MS的award条件.
师太这回真应该出来答疑了。说说是怎么通过hard work拿到这个award的。
又有疑惑了. 这个奖, 得学校提名才行.

of their most recent PhD, ScD, or MD. In Latin America, nominees must
hold a full-time (permanent) faculty position and must have obtained
their PhD degree no more than six years prior to their nominations. In
Europe, nominees must have obtained their PhD or equivalent degree more
than two years but fewer than eight years prior to their nominations
(justified extensions such as maternity leave may be accepted). Nominees must be new faculty members in the first, second, or third year of their first tenure-track faculty appointment. Three (3) letters of recommendation are required from established
researchers familiar with the nominee’s research. Of these letters, one
(1) letter of recommendation should come from within the nominating
institution, and the other two (2) letters should come from outside the

上面那句没看出要学校提名啊
你看完整个MS的申请faq就知道了, 必须要学校提名. 一个学校只能提名一个人. 你看我的第二个link, 就是一个学校internal application deadline. 学校里面的教授们先向学校申请, 然后学校再挑一个提名给MS.

Really does not make sense. Clemson或许没有仔细扣这个，因为师太对他们而言是new faculty。这些人数理逻辑学得太差了。

我是怀疑她现在那个二流学校，是否有人去申请这个，大多数人还是有自知之明的吧？看历届得主就知道一般哪些学校中奖，还是这些二三流学校faculty也都不试白不试？

也可能是师太对她自己简历的含混。她在学校的网站上根本没有列前面的学校。如果不是其他地方查到，根本不知道她2006-2009在哪里。她在现在学校确实是新的。关键字是first tenure-track faculty appointment. 现在学校挺烂的，没人得到过，也未必有人申请过，系里对规则未必那么清楚。含混一下说不定就过了。而且她申请时即使算上前面学校，也算第三年。
算上前面学校, 她申请时候是第四年.
