Dear Dr. XX,
With the eligibility rules set forth in Microsoft Research website [Ref.1], it has come to my attention that an elected year 2010 faculty fellow may not be qualified to receive such an award.
Dr. Haiying (Helen) Shen, became an assistant professor in University of Arkansas in August, 2006, right after she received Ph.D. in Wayne State University [Ref.2, Ref.3]. After three years, she joined Clemson University in August 2009 as assistant professor and has held this position since then [Ref.3,Ref.4].
According to the eligibility rules, the cutoff time to determine the eligibility for year 2010 candidates is November, 2009. It is found that
1) Dr. Shen was at her second faculty appointment as of November, 2009. 2) Dr. Shen was in fourth year as a faculty as of November, 2009.
Microsoft Research Faculty Fellow is a prestigious title that any young professor in computer science and engineering would be proud to wear. Any doubt in the credibility of an elected fellow should not be allowed. Thus, it is appreciated very much if a probe into her eligibility of being a Microsoft Research Faculty Fellow is conducted.

这次事件，华人比mit强。太多mit上的wsn一看人家漂亮，就不分青红皂白的声援了。。。
他们这帮loser是不敢，要是敢呛声，起不是暴露了自己是loser, 师太一句有本事你也拿7nsf+一个ms fellow看看,他们就龟缩了。
如果说大家质疑她是嫉妒， 可是如果能力不平庸，自己优秀， 没有那些造价的嫌疑为什么有人会质疑呐？有些人不要总觉得别人有点看法就心生嫉妒， 华人有成就的多了， 嫉妒的过来吗？说实话， 看到那些真正的大牛， 除了羡慕和敬仰， 还有同为中国人的骄傲。
我也支持AP如果发现有人诬陷， 出来澄清也好， 付诸法律行为也好。
我相信大部分人都是希望这个事件有个最公平的结果"

买卖提上曾经有一个帖子偶尔提问说她的老公是不是就是她的导师？我发现一些奇怪的线索:

女AP的那些事情这么公开讨论本来不妥，因为我们并不知道是真是假。但现在是网络社
会，有的人像打了鸡血一样就把这些事情完全当真来攻击一个人。反过来想，如果这个
事情发生在自己的身上，你怎么想？
看了女AP在微软的讲座，她的英语当然说不上好，但英语像她一样水平的中国faculty
我见得多了，工科faculty还是要看research如何，是否拿得到funding。英语水平并不
是最重要的，其中从第44分钟左右开始，下面听的人提了一些问题，她还是能够跟上回
答的。当然这个对facult来说是起码的要求。但我想说的是，如果不看这段录像，光看
一些网友的帖子，好像这女AP就是个骗子，也就中专水平，这就过分了。正因为看了一
些帖子，我看录像之前对她的英语水平的期望值是很低的，结果看了之后觉得当
faculty，这个英语水平可以了。当然，有人可能会说她的学术水平也不怎么样，但我
很难想象一个学术水平很糟糕的人能在IEEE Transaction上有作为唯一作者的文章发表
，能拿到微软的奖（她是否qualify申请这个奖可以讨论），能拿到NSF的funding，这
一切都是靠不正当的方式得到的？所有人包括她论文的reviewer、主编、director等等
都被她收买了？很难令人相信。
