Since my friends don't really drink, and I am concerned about gaining too much weight from over-eating and over-drinking, we decided to go non-all-inclusive.
does credit card company charge a fee? We used BOA debit card and got peso at the ATM machine, no additional charge. The rate was not bad, about 12.3. You can find the ATM verywhere, because BOA and one of the major bank (santango???) are afliciated. We got 6000 peso at the ATM in the airport, very easy, no line, no hassile. it was funny that 3 feet away there is a money exchange shop, and there was a long long line. People just got off plane and wanted to exchange peso, the exchange rate was 10.
You can find the bank and its ATM everywhere in Cancun.
You can use dollar nearly everywhere but the exchange rate may not be good. Some shops/restraunts just use 10 for convience. So we always used peso.
The tap water in Cancun is not good. It is recommended that you always drink bottled water. The first thing for many people is to take bus R2 to walmart to buy lots of bottled water when they arrive at Cancun. We had one free bottle of water a day. And we bought some from walmart. We also bought a lot fresh friuit, bread, milk, yogurt from walmart so we just ate breakfirst in room. It saved us lots time and money. The breakfirst in our hotel is around $30, very expensive for breakfirst but worth every penny. The bad thing is we took too much time to explore breakfirst the first day, we just didn't have much time left for other activities. The sun rises around 6:30am and after 4 pm, it slowly becomes dark and too windy. So the daytime is limited.
We dined at a Mexico once and found that they charge us $5 for not ordering any Achol drink. In another restraunt I just want some water and I was given a "bottled" water for 80 peso. So next time if i just want some water, I always say glass water to avoid the charge.
The prices there should already inclue VAT. But waiters know the US system. A waiter once told us that some aditional 10% was tax so we gave him another 15% tip. Later we found that the 10% money was tip and it was already included in our bill.

i don't know how their brain works. emma learnt one american map so fast. my mom tried out many times before she showed that to emma so that she can teach emma. but after 2 tries, emma put the puzzle together much much faster than my mom.

The crab house in hotelzone is not bad, and not every expensive. There are a few restraunts in the Mall just opposite Westine (not our Westine). Some of them only open for dinner. There is a restraunt on the second floor of the aquarium, you can eat and watching dolphins jumping/playing at the first floor. Xiaofei just cannot have enough of it. It is a pity that Emma will not be with you in cancun.

I don't even want to sign the review sheet. cover要看你为了整个team争取到了时间还是拖延了时间..manager的perspective跟你是不一样的..如果你觉得你当时made the right decision就不要sign..argue..如果你承认你handle的不够好就improve..很多时候你付出的effort要給能决策的人看到并且能直接看到positive result..否则都是无用功..如果你argue你的point应该是你的team从中benefit了..而不是personal good will..你越强调personal good will这事对你越不利..跳出来看看big picture冷静的想想..不用着急sign也不用着急argue..

I think I need to begin looking for other position now. Just heard a few rumors that my former boss and my current boss are fightling for power, and it seems my current boss is winning.
My former boss is an EVP and my group was in her division. But from 1/1/11, my group was transfered to the new division and all the persons are reviewed in Jan. In fact my review should be done in Apr this year if we stayed at the former division. One of the hottest PM is let go. Everybody is shocked because he is known as a "golden boy" and is my former boss 's good friend.
My former boss was the second important person after CEO. But now many of her teams including our team are transfered into my current division. I think she losses a lot. Suddenly she is not that important.
My friend in Washington just told me that she has no new project and all her current projects ends in this month. At the same time, a senior PM is hired in NJ. It was a great shock to her since she has been in the company for over 15 years, from a trainner to a PM. And she had thought she would be promoted to senior PM this year, but it seems her position is not stable now.
It is really sad to be a remote personel. We don't even hear rumors.

你真是个super mom～～～像你现在这种情况， 可以考虑找个baby sitter， 如果没学校又正好工作赶的话可以用一下。 有些local 的stay at home mom 应该很乐意做这种活的， 尤其小孩子年纪差不多的话， 就像是一个play date一样， 也顺便赚点小钱。 你可以在local的报纸啥的找找。 估计明天是赶不及了～～～
给LZ看一下我在旅馆自己屋里拍的, 所有hotel zone hotels都几乎是这样的, 从看景色来说没啥好挑的, 如果不住ocean view room, 住对面的lagoon view room, 我们这一侧(靠近机场)也不错, 但越靠近downtown越没啥意思.

3. Gran Caribe Real Resort and Spa, about $125 per person per night
4. Palace Resort (probably Beach Palace), about $250 per person per night.
Which one is better?

walmart里卖当劳旁还有一个卖中餐的，象MALL里卖快餐中餐那样，不过我们Mall里的都是老墨炒的，Cancun居然是老中炒的。
比这里的好吃, 就是太咸了。有一次我们吃了还买回来当晚餐，算起来$11够我们的晚饭了。
我们每次在龙城都能碰上一组中国人，都是连吃两天西餐一定要出来吃顿中餐的人，有一组居然坐R1然再转R16, 辛辛苦苦才找到中餐的。，

One room. We wanted one room, so we can lay in the bed, and talk and talk and talk.

airfare for me is $327. for my friend from san jose is $412.
if you just want to sit back and relax, try Costco Travel Omni Cancun Hotel and Villas. Price is not bad for 4 star all inclusive.

今年晚会不错...我pp説来三次对美国印象最深的第一是ms summer picnic的bbq..第二就是这个晚会..都是ms的..哈哈哈哈哈

这两天 juror duty，累死了，折腾了半天，还好没有被选到，否则还要 2-3 天。

你真是个super mom～～～像你现在这种情况， 可以考虑找个baby sitter， 如果没学校又正好工作赶的话可以用一下。 有些local 的stay at home mom 应该很乐意做这种活的， 尤其小孩子年纪差不多的话， 就像是一个play date一样， 也顺便赚点小钱。 你可以在local的报纸啥的找找。 估计明天是赶不及了～～～

7 is super long. i have 2 pairs. one pair i had it cut shorter, doesn't look good.

然后肥爸发EMAIL告诉我, 他错拿了我的手机, 还给落在旅馆了. 他现在在机场BOOK 了晚上的飞机.正坐机场等.
5分钟后我就又接了个电话, 他晚上的飞机也取消了.
最惨的是为了省钱, 他们CENTER ＤＩＲＥＣＴＯＲ 要求他们两人住一屋.
显然CENTER ＤＩＲＥＣＴＯＲ不上华人或者BＢＳ．
那天我学了好些俄语, 可惜因为喝高了, 第二天全给忘了.
