Wedding has a lot to do with photos, since at the end of day, that's what left for us to cherish for a lifetime. If there was something we truly did excessively for our weddings, it was the photos. We had about 4000 photos taken for our weddings. A little excessive, but should give us enough to look at for rest of our life.
But wedding photos are not just images that a stranger would say B-E-A-U beautiful, are they? We might all have sat in the same beautiful chair, or have stood by the same gorgeous window, yet we are all different brides with different stories. We all want to look beautiful in the photos, but for me, it's more important that they are telling a story about US. Normal people like me deserve their own, and very own, wedding photos too.
I will talk about photographer selections a bit more later. But just want to share this upfront that communication with a photographer is so important. You almost have to know the exact images you are looking for before you walk into the studio. Why? If the photos are about YOU, then nobody is going to know you better than yourself.
We spent a lot of time chatting with our photographers before shooting, telling them what we like, and showed them some photos we have collected from Huaren and other wedding websites. We emphasized that we want the photos to look natural, and at the mininum, look like us.
We bought our wedding bands from Tiffany, before leaving for China.
I wanted something with small diamonds but ZT wanted a simple PT band. So we picked the following: Mine: Shared-setting band ring with a half circle of round brilliant diamonds in platinum. 2.2mm wide. ZT's: Lucida wedding band ring in platinum. 3mm wide. The nice thing about the shared-setting design is that the setting is the same as T's engagement ring, so the two look great together.

Our parents debated with us for a while about where our wedding should be. With relatives and friends all over the world (LOL, that really means a cluster around Beijing, a cluster around Shanghai, and another cluster in the U.S.), we decided that no one wedding can realize the dreams of all. So we ended up with this crazy idea of having three weddings in one summer.
It was May 2010 when we finalized the timeline for the weddings, leaving us little time for the preparation. First wedding: 6/26 in my hometown Second wedding: 7/5 in ZT's hometown Third wedding: 9/5 back in the U.S.

I'm curious how lz could find the wedding venue, stylist, and wedding planner. I called some around, and all the good ones need the reservation for half to one years ahead.
