我的西式婚礼，中式婚礼筹备中-Something new, something old, something blue

Prelude I promised myself to write something about my wedding, but it just so hard to find a good perspective. So I decide that I will just write, and let many pieces of details fall together and hopefully you can get a whole picture.
Part one- Pre wedding
· Red: Remember in the movie “Father of the bride”, the wedding planer said: “Let’s start with the cake.” Well, let’s start with the color—Red. To be honest, I wanted earthy colors at first, orange and chocolate brown, just like the beautiful foliage in New England. Red come into my mind when we decided to do the wedding in the middle of winter. Red Roses will be so romantic in the endless snow, make people feel warm and loved when they come to the wedding, plus we are talking about a Chinese girl getting married, what other color can be more traditional than red. So after that, I have my theme flower: Red Roses. My bouquet consists of 60 red roses, since 6 is really a lucky number. And all the other bouquets, boutonnière, corsages, alter decorations, pew decorations, centerpieces, cake decoration, wedding camera, bride maid’s hair pin, patterns on my wedding shoes, they are all roses; the color of mothers’ gowns , the wedding favors, the guestbook, the little heart on the seating card, the bride and groom’s crystal <p>＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝</p> <p><font color="#ff0000">已奖励，恭喜mm：）——dididog</font></p>
· Silk satin: The first thing I did to kick off the wedding planning is to find my gown, and the first thing about my gown is I want it to be pure silk, no synthetic. I just love the pearl like sheen silk satin gives out under candle light. I want it to have moderate pearl and crystal beading on the upper body and laces at the rim of the skirt. I want it to be lavish yet have soft feminine feeling. I want it to have lots of beautiful details and also work sleekly at whole. And on top of that I wanted long cathedral veil with flower embroider to finish the look. And it absolutely should be anti symmetric to add some playful flavor in it. Thanks to the talented designer Enzoani, I got exactly what I want. Well, to be exact, I change the neckline from a straight line to a sweet heart, that would be my personal touch to the gown. It has all the beautiful beading which forms difference floral pattern, side ruched with beaded lace appliqués, and it has an upswept skirt at side which reveals tulle with scalloped hemline. And what make it even better, is the shoes. They are silk satin too, and with a lovely embroider of ROSE on them.
· Girls Fun night out I had a lot of fun in my mini shower/girls night out; I hate to call it a bachelorette party since we did not do anything crazy, we just had tons of fun. The night start at my favorite sushi restaurant, we got two giant boats of all kinds of sushi. That is the largest amount of sushi I have ever seen in my entire life. After a true feast of Japanese food, we started our journey of bar hopping. Of coursed I am dressed by the girls, crown, fake veil, two different colors feathers and all sorts of silly stuff. We ordered giant scorpion bowls with smoke coming out of it; We sang karaoke in front of a big crown, the DJ was so impressed and he announce my drink is on him; we dance the night out in a hot club and every girl was so happy. Where ever I go, there were just people coming to congratulate me “Happy Birthday!”, everyone thinks it is my 21 birthday and just make it legal to drink! That made my day.
· Rehearsal in Chinese style and dinner in Italian family style There was a big fire in the city on the rehearsal night. Fire engines, police officers, helicopters, blocked roads were all over the city. What is an unexpected prelude to my rehearsal! The church was more festive than usual since it still counted as Christmas season. Hubby and I are all dressed in Chinese wedding outfit. Mine was red two piece long dress with feather and golden flowers on it, paired with the sparkling golden shoes. Hubby wore a blue jacket with silver dragon and phoenix. After we did the rehearsal, everyone moved to a family style Italian restaurant. Wow, this one is true family style! · Something new, something old, something blue, something borrowed: Something new: the dress is new. Something old: the engagement ring is old; it is a family stone which is almost 100 years old. Something blue: I got this cute little Victoria secret crystal undie with side tied blue ribbon in my mini shower, and a matching “just married” crystal blue top, which I am going to wear in my honeymoon. Something borrowed: I borrowed this nice double string of antique pearl necklace, and it goes perfectly with my gown
I almost cried in my friend’s wedding when she walked down the aisle, when the song starts playing. She is so beautiful in the white dress, coming to her man. It is such a touching song and I underestimated its power when I chose it. When I stand behind the closed door, knowing all the people were waiting in the church, especially my hubby, I was somewhat nervous, I was worried the ribbon on the bouquet is not right and I was afraid I will step on my train. But when the door opens, when organist start playing Pachelbel’s canon in D Major, I see him, and all the worry was gone. He was there, at the end of the aisle, waiting, waiting for his girl to come to him. My dad hold my arm, we were walking down the aisle slowly. Suddenly, emotion hit me so hard, and I can not help to start to cry. This is probably the first time I have tears of happiness about myself, I usually laugh when I am extremely happy but never cry. All the happy memory just flashed through my mind while the song is playing, all the time we spend together was just for this moment. My hubby was looking at me all this time, and I can see the tears in his eyes, too. After my Dad put my hand into his hand, He held me so firmly and whisper to me:” honey, you look stunning”. Father R gave us such a warm and welcoming smile when we were holding hands together in front him and having tears of love and happiness in our eyes, it was just a magnificent feeling at that moment. Until now, whenever I hear the song, I will remember that moment and want to cry.
· Unity Candle I love the lighting of the unity candle. We leave both of the side candles burning after we light the center candle, symbolize that we are jointing together accepting each others individuality, and we are going to respect each other’s special personality, interest, religion, culture background and all after marriage. I was really touched about what father R told us during the rehearsal. He said he wanted us to light the candle again right after our first big fight, and remember the moment when we first light up the candle together at our wedding alter. That is what I learn, we need always remember it is not always sunny in the marriage, but no matter what, we should never forget that we came together because of love. · Rose Ceremony We are the first to have a rose ceremony among all the weddings Father R celebrated, and he said he will suggest new couples to have one in there wedding ceremony from now on. It is such a nice thing to show our love and thanks to our dear mothers. They are the ones who brought us to this world, nurturing us with all their heart, and today they are giving their children away. · Poem: This is our first reading, rather than traditional one, we chose a poem. I wrote the Chinese version. It is rather a creative writing than an honest translation of the original poem.
· mansion: This is such a fabulous historical mansion in the modern metropolitan city. When we first come into the mansion, we looked at each other and say, I think this is it, this is place! That is a spontaneous decision between us. We love the smell of old fashion romance. The mansion is covered with ivy leaves in the summer, but in the winter, all the vines in the snow make it look more magnificent. We always wanted a small intimate but formal noble wedding, a night of dinner and dance in this hidden jewel, just like in the old century……
· Waltz: We wanted a song which is happy and full of magic. The problem is it is Waltz and our few swing dance nights back in the summer would not help us with that. My dear Dad stepped out, taught us every basic moves in Waltz. And it was fun since he did not speak English and most of the time I forgot to translate since I am learning the dance at the same time. my poor hubby has to figure out how to lead dance Waltz almost without any useful proper audio assistance, in only THREE lessons. But we made my Dad proud and the dance turns out nice, at least in our mind.
· The cake: Love, Love, Love the cake. Nothing fancy, nothing crazy. It is just a good, tasty, moist vanilla cake which has elegant and simple floral design on it. The cake top is still in the refrigerator and we are supposed to eat it on our first anniversary. I should really cross my finger because almost everyday I have the temptation to sneak in a piece, but fortunately so far I persuaded myself not to do it.
· The snow: It starts to snow after we get to the reception. It is so quiet outside the mansion, it is snowing; and it is full of music inside the mansion, we are dancing. After the wedding…… The Sunday morning, our family gathered together at the seaport for the after wedding brunch. It was such a blast at the wedding the night before, and the brunch seems to be so relaxing and joyful. The harbor was extra peaceful because of the snow, and our hearts are full of hope and happiness……

My hubby is such a sweet heart and he did put his heart into every details of the wedding too. now I just wish the time did not flew by so quickly in my wedding day :) well, maybe time goes by really quick when you are really happy. 不过 最后是请妈妈把蝴蝶结用针线固定起来了 所以就不会滑了

我选好的这套是organza over satin， 那么表示不是silk滴？？
现在都觉得自己穿着synthetic的东西似的了。。。
其实看妹妹自己的喜好了
如果夏天结婚的话silk satin 反倒不好， 太热了呀
准备婚礼是一件很累人的事情，不过也很美好呀，妹妹加油

在加州举行，西式的婚礼吧
主要是我比较懒，拖沓的太严重
婚纱要早些定 还有场地要早些定
其他的可以拖一拖 不会有太大关系
我明年2月在长沙，刚刚把日子定下来，正式开始筹备咯！
整整一年准备呢 妹妹到时候的婚礼肯定很完美

你如果给照片 应该会做的吧 什么叫是中式造型呀 总觉得做发型是中外都差不多的吧 剪头发才会因为发质不同有很大差别
