根据加拿大皇家骑警的调查报告显示，在士嘉堡拥有一间大型超市Field Fresh Supermarket Inc（好世界大型超市）的华裔商人Daixiong He（音译：何戴雄）将 90 箱 500 枚可疑硬币存入帐户。他常以一箱500枚假币的方式进行存款，合共存入90箱。而警方在他被捕前仅截获了其中9箱，换言之即是有81箱共40,500枚假币流出市面。
70岁的何戴雄在Newmarket法院认罪。著名防伪专家Mike Marshall指出，尽管皇家铸币局声称假币情况相对较低，但仍有大量假币间歇性流通，加拿大市面上2元硬币的信誉受损。
