Honestly I don’t think you need my help or any help. I don’t mind sharing my experience but I never feed my kids with anything extra academically. My fear is the opposite. I’m afraid my kids will be bored at school if they’re too far ahead of the class. Anyway, you may not like my choice but there is no right or wrong choices. So long as you’re comfortable and your kids are happy.

FYI - my “各种课后班” was referring to swimming, basketball, and music. None of those are associated with college admissions, but those activities do help my kids build strong body and mind. I was able to juggle between work and the kids so that wasn’t too much of a stretch for me. My second child started AOPS in his 5th grade, there is a huge difference between 5th grade and second grader. I literally bought him the book “intro to algebra” for him to work on when he asked for it. Regarding your question on college, I care because my older one is now in high school, not a second grader. Also, I know some of the colleges quite well because I was involved in campus recruiting earlier in my career and I don’t usually mind sharing what I know. Anyhow, my only piece of advice would be “why the rush?” It’s a journey, not a 50 yard sprint. To be 100% true to myself and you, I just don’t like people spreading anxiety on academic achievement. It’s taking a toll on a lot of people’s mental health, both to the parents and the kids.
