还好上次没贴 https://www.foxnews.com/media/canadian-police-warn-posting-videos-alleged-package-thieves-violation-privacy Canadian police warn that posting videos of alleged package thieves could be ‘violation' of their privacy
It’s yet another evidence that Canada is further on the path of ruin than the US. 'You cannot post the images yourself because you have to remember, in Canada, we have a presumption of innocence,' the police officer warned Presumption of innocence is a principle in the court of law. Victim posting a video of a thief in action is not, in itself, an action of the court to condemn the thief. The video may be posted for everyone to see, but the accused enjoys presumption of innocence all the way up until the jury or judge hands down the guilty verdict. The police who made such comment is ignorant of basic legal concepts. Furthermore, the legal doctrine in the US (I’m not sure how it is in Canada), is that you do not have the expectation of privacy when you are in public places. Someone else’s porch by any standard is public space TO YOU, and any of YOUR actions, legal or otherwise, is subject to public exposure.
