你只回去一个月,可以考虑 Family leave.

是的,具体你可以问你的单位hr,公司都有具体表格需要你填写,还有你父母的医生填写。也可以分开使用,不需要一次用完三个月,可以只请一个月,或者一次用三个月根据你家老人情况,或者几天等等分多次用完,总共一年只有三个月这种fmla. 你单位会对你说的。

其实国内阿姨又不贵,不需要省这个钱吧。北京一个照顾老人的阿姨6800一个月,不到一千美金。一手信息。 这个不算最贵,但是绝对不是便宜的。我知道好多用久的,或者慢慢找的,比这个便宜些。

这个绝对是真理 -- 遇到好用的阿姨保姆,必须花市场价的150%-200%才能长期留下来 -- 这种阿姨一般都不在市面上流通的,一旦被人留用,起码5年内不会再进入市场。
不过这样的阿姨,带娃没问题,但照顾老人体力不一定行 -- 给老人洗澡、翻身,需要一个强壮的男劳力,或者老毛子那种强壮大妈。
我家里老人没有瘫痪,就是不能自理了。保姆一个人可以。但是子女也会经常去探望搭把手。他们还住在老年公寓。有那种按小时算的服务员可以随叫随到搭把手。
现在实际情况就是一个照顾不了四个 送好点的养老院过渡一下也是没办法的事情 这边孩子说大不大说小不小的 你让楼主一家子怎么办? 已经为了照顾老人一家子两地过了
别的地方不知道,北京给有钱人的阿姨,基本上是正式工, 有假期,工作稳定性和待遇超过大厂。比如影帝谁谁谁家的,还有几个常上电视的大老板家的阿姨,年薪都是几十万的。
有钱人家的阿姨,和照顾老人的保姆不是一个工种,要求简直是完全不一样的。
老人语言不通,没有出行自由,美国人工和医疗那么贵,楼主光是带老人看病都很累,更别说要照顾瘫痪和癌症的病人了。
我觉得楼主还是想办法花钱在国内找人,比如雇佣自己的亲戚,再加上护工,国内退休早,楼主五十岁要上班养孩子,国内的人这个年龄不少都退休开始跳广场舞了,亲戚主要负责监督和安排,护工干体力活。国内老人的吃穿用和医疗,一般老人自己的退休工资和医疗保障应该就能cover,或者大部分cover,楼主在美国守住自己的工作,好好挣工资,把钱拿回国内花还是可以支撑的
家里收入高的留下来,另外一个回去,
家里孩子高中的话,基本可以独立了
反倒是老人,就算有住家保姆,如果没有一个身强力壮的帮着盯着,也很难做到细心照顾

省会城市的话,看看有没有泰康,听说他家还不错。设施齐全,老人照顾的也还好,费用贵一些,高等级的护理一万多一个月,可以一对老人住一间房子,平均下来价格还凑合。

三个月fmla是无薪的,工作满一年就可以,好像是联邦法律允许的。
可以每年请,不过就离自己辞职不远了。

对, 我也记得FMLA是对家人【突发性,手术等】疾病看护的,不是父母年老需要人照顾生活,那种可以适用的。那肯定乱套了,人人请,干嘛不请?

独居老人雇一个保姆,一对一照顾的过来的。两个老人都在,一个不能自理,另一个也不利索或者性格不好闹腾,保姆一个人照顾两个还要做家务,那肯定不行的,谁来都不行。一般这种情况要送养老院,两个人分开有不同的人照顾。
都不能生活自理了还要啥语言通自由出行啊……我们邻居有个奶奶90多了癌症晚期不能自理长期卧床,住在儿子家里,但每天有护工上门照顾几个小时,不是全天,我听我邻居说是政府报销的,这也比两个国家来回跑好啊
建议国内找个离大医院近的 老年公寓+护理院,两家住就近的两单元互相照顾 吃饭有食堂,每天都有十几个菜,还能单独order想吃东西。 可以在食堂吃,也可以免费送到房间。 有不舒服拉铃找服务员,24小时医生护士值班。
然后再雇一个钟点工送病人去医院做检查化疗。
现在国内养老已经相当成熟,很多教授军官医生住,环境设施都很好,不比国外差。
国外挣钱贴包下养老费用,比回去自己当护工合理多了。
建议请假回去一个月,带着他们看几个养老院,让他们自己选。
只能这样的,这是基于目前信息能做出的最好的决定。当然,以后可能会后悔,如婚姻生变,照顾老人的被累垮、抑郁,照顾孩子的被气疯、崩溃。以后的事,谁预料的到?总不能看着老人等死吧。这就是中年人的悲哀吧。也许一些人的幸福真的是要牺牲另外一些人的才能得到。:-( 是不是我太悲观了?但这就是我这几年的感受。

现在你知道好的保姆有多难找?三四线城市,好的,6000+,住家的。这都得要靠运气才能找到。
当地好的养老院其实是个非常好的选择,我们家老人就是不愿意去,觉得名声不好听,而且就是觉得去那里很凄惨,,可是我们给老人租个一楼的离医院近的房子,然后请个专职护理的护工的钱加起来比养老院也差不多了。国内老人想的通的,愿意去养老院的真的不多。估计楼主夫妻要做四个人的思想工作就更不容易了。,
老人不一定愿意是一个原因。
国内养老院不规范,容易出各种问题也是一个原因。
就算这两点都没问题,无论是送养老院,还是请保姆。子女也得在就近在身边。
时不时探望,解决各种问题,帮忙各种决策。想着隔着太平洋把老人往养老院一送或者请个保姆就完事基本上是不可能的。
说托给亲戚的,这个真的得天时地利人和。不是说不可能,但是肯定不是家家都可以实现。你子女都嫌累嫌麻烦的事,咋会觉得亲戚就愿意承担这个重担呢?
至于给亲戚给钱,给房子,版上亲兄弟姐妹在国内照看父母,父母的房子给了兄弟都怕拿了钱不干活,为啥觉得亲戚拿了钱就能尽心尽力呢?
养老如果光需要钱就简单了,需要钱还需要人的,这个人不见得需要做体力活,但一定要会打点安排妥当。老人到了需要养老的时候都糊涂的很。 楼主是双独家庭,没人做主心骨才是最大的问题。
如果工作够年头了,辞职也会有吧。 我记得好像是10年。 然后每干够一个月涨一点。
