Not sure why most true crime channels don't include this very important detail. But, here goes a part of the real story: Taylor was in a car accident and because she was severely injured she won a substantial settlement. She was also alone in that vehicle. Taylor went through several surgeries, actually needed more surgeries to her back and was still getting physical therapy. That money was given to her for all these expenses she still needed to take care of. She also obviously couldn't work due to the injuries she got from the accident. The 100k was what she had left over from her settlement. She did start doing drugs, but not as much as depicted here. She didn't spend her money entirely on drugs, she spent it on her medical treatments. Months after the accident, Taylor started partying and cheated on her husband and he found out. Because of this and other marital problems Taylor asked him for a divorce but he refused. In the divorce proceedings HE included Taylor's insurance payout but Taylor felt that it was rightfully hers, since she got it in a settlement from her accident. But the judge handling their divorce, after finding out Taylor took it out of the bank, requested she return it so they could continue with the proceedings. He was the one to decide if the money would be split or if Taylor would keep it. That's why in court, it was important her husband testify about the money. Because he was a witness as to the existence of that money, who it belonged to (both of them since they hadn't been divorced yet and it hadn't been decided where the money would go to), that Taylor did try to hide the money from her still husband by taking it out and handing it to Ashley for safekeeping, and that Taylor did NOT give Ashley the money. But that didn't mean the money belonged to him only. Taylor was not a perfect person, nobody is. But Taylor is still a victim here. Both from Ashley and the "husband" because he wasn't a perfect one either. In my opinion, after watching the full story in another channel, he was just being petty because he still wanted to be with her when she didn't. I think that's why he included Taylor's money in the divorce. I keep saying Taylor's money because she got it due to her injuries from the accident. And SHE needed it to continue with her therapies and surgeries. After their divorce, he wasn't going to help her with those expenses obviously. Plus he wanted full custody of their son and was requesting child support from her! So why take it away from her? Just because she doesn't want to be with him? And how was she going to be able to pay him child support when she couldn't even work?! That guy is a piece of . I could include more things that are not so good about him that were not stated here but this comment is already long enough. It's just an FYI that sometimes you have to watch different channels regarding the same case because some of them include things we haven't heard yet. Like this long one.
