看隔壁裸辞帖有同感。三个月前来了一个有毒的老板,把我整个人搞抑郁了,现在一提工作就心跳加快喘不过气,再呆下去要交代在这里了。以下一些具体案例,负能量预警。 行业:对冲基金 (不是投资岗,是business) 1:性别&人种歧视。Team dinner的时候说自己小时候长大在法属加勒比的一个岛,因为是only white male there, 所以very successful with girls. 平时态度傲慢,趾高气扬,指使lz做一些receptionist work(例如安排meeting) 2:语言及其rude。为了强调自己老板的权威,不允许我们问问题。之前我的问题(有些都不是直接问他而是发在群里的)他回复:I'm seriously speechless you're asking.../How is that surprising... 3: 对LZ毫无由来的偏见(可能是1的体现)他来公司3周就去讨论bonus了,LZ去年跳槽,bonus事先和公司谈好的,但是这有毒的老板竟然扣了我promiss的奖金,给出的理由是you didn't reach my expectation。大哥我们才catch up过两次!You barely know me! 后来通过关系好的大领导反映上去,无果,说不能override his decision。 最近几个月真是人生至暗,无数次被气到手抖,哭的眼睛都疼了。和公司experienced的人聊,他们说是这个人的style,让我stay cool。不知道可不可以和HR raise gender and race bias?考虑到他们对待我bonus的态度,感觉 没什么用。 咨询了律师,说没什么直接证据support sue他。 现在对这个行业感到绝望。想辞职,换个行业,但已经30了,换个行业从头做起又不甘心。 华人上能人众多,想听听各位姐妹的建议。谢谢大家! lulu3331 发表于 2023-02-17 09:49

Sorry to hear this is happening to you, but this is actually very common, lots of toxic @$$holes and b**ches like this who has zero leadership and management skills especially in finance. My thoughts: 1) There really isn't much you can do if you go to HR. I've seen people complain. HR may do an investigation but nothing will happen to him since he is C level. HR will always protect the high ranking employee. Also if you complain about him, the firm may try to find some bs reason to fire you, companies do not like employees who cause trouble 2) How long have you been in in the industry and what is your current rank? If you have been there for a while see if you can transfer to another team 3) You may have to find another job (and usually this is what people do, remember people don't leave companies, they leave managers) 4) If you haven't shown any outward signs of resentment towards him, you can try to just do everything he wants and be docile, pretty much have to be 100% submissive and go with whatever he says 5) If you have shown acts of defiance or unwilling to comply to him, be very careful since he may try to fire you. These type of @SS and B**tches really do not tolerate any disobediance I hope things work out well for you, don't take it personally. There are so many toxic people like him, you may encounter it at your next firm too. See which option is best for you based on your personality and tolerance level, don't let it affect your mental and physical health, not worth it

Echoing on my reply to you earlier, the situations i've witnessed/known of when someone filed a complaint about their boss to HR was in Banking/PE. The complaining employee never got what they wanted. In the one case where the employee's boss did leave (boss also was terrible at job), the PE later found a reason to fire the employee a few months later. Also on the point of bonus, i even know people's base salary that got lowered in PE, so nothing is guaranteed even bonus.

如果上面的人对他也有意见,告hr还是有用的,你这个case就是递给别人的刀。 当然自己先骑驴找马,你估计也呆不下去。建议先找工作,找到再告。还可以negotiate exit package ( due to the mental stress he has caused) 一般公司息事宁人。 一开始找工作,你的心情也会积极很多,工作上躺平就好了

2+3他真的toxic但是在投行/PE/HF我觉得这种人也不少,如果公司特别需要喜欢他,你是弄不走他的,可以自己跑

如果是对方参加的话,帮忙安排一下无所谓。如果不是,专门帮你安排,确实对对方下属不尊重。

那就看你们公司文化吧。一般都是assistant做的。你说你的assistant 不懂这些又忙又慢当然也是你的自由啦。

他在公司肯定有竞争者和敌人 联合他们 每天和他们诉苦 见人就聊这些 一定找到别的组去聊 争取把他搞臭

不要动不动就裸辞。先摸鱼试试
bonus是performance based吧。如果他说没有meet expectation,是可以没有的。
楼主可以要求hr和他老板给出没有meet expectation的具体解释。
要看offer letter啊。
我的offer letter里写明了第一年和第二年 guaranteed minimum bonus, —— 不是perf-based, 就是公司想match 现在的package, 但是又不想把base pay 弄得太高,所以把钱放在bonus里了。
别太上心了,全当看着傻叉演戏,开开眼界,积攒下对付这种人的经验。以后职场上还会碰到各种各样的奇葩。
哦,我们行业基本没有这样写的。不过楼主的老板可以不给,hr也不管,多半不会是这样的bonus?

其实你complain与否对他对你公司影响都不大。你实在不爽就赶紧找工作吧,反正圈子小,大家知道你老板是他之后都懂的。
多一事不如少一事,圈子太小了,你怎么知道以后你不会进入他buddy的fund
