外加这个bill的链接,大家可以看看具体的细节和它的status Texas Legislature Online - 88(R) History for SB 147 capitol.texas.gov/BillLookup/history.aspx?LegSess=88R&Bill=SB147 [email protected] Dear Andrea, Thanks for your email. While I appreciate the exception of permanent residence and US.. citizenship, I do not believe this is enough. Every year, hundreds of thousands of Chinese students come to the US for undergraduate and graduate education. After they graduate, many of these highly educated/skilled Chinese stay in the US on working visas, and spend anywhere from several to over ten years to get their permanent residence. According to this bill, they won’t be able to purchase a home in Texas when they work toward their citizenship. This bill reminds me of the infamous Chinese Exclusion Act in the 1880s which prohibited Chinese immigrants. Furthermore, it is not constitutional to ban a group of people from buying houses based on their race or nationality, this will lead to discrimination issues. Hitler in the 1930s started out by restricting Jews from holding real estate properties in Germany. I have firsthand experience of being discriminated against as an Asian and witnessed the increasing hostility towards Asian Americans over the last few years. I bought my first handgun during the pandemic out of fear for my safety even though I had never touched a gun before. This bill will further fuel the current Asian hate. As a mother of two, I am deeply disturbed by this hatred and worry about my kids’ future in the U.S. The bill should prohibit all politically connected land purchases by any foreign nationality or none at all. I strongly oppose singling out several countries and discriminating based on race or nationality. I will mobilize all my friends, neighbors, and acquaintances to vote against this bill shall it stay in its current form. Please forward my thoughts to Senator Lois W. Kolkhorst. Thank you for taking the time to read my email. Best,

[email protected] Dear Andrea, Thanks for your email. Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.

Foreign-born individuals make up 14.25 percent of the population in the country’s 50 largest metros, on average. San Jose, Miami, and Los Angeles have the greatest foreign-born populations at 37.56 percent each. Due to the areas and sort of properties sought by foreign purchasers, the median existing-home sales price among international buyers was $351,800, 15% more than the $305,500 median price for all existing homes sold in the United States. 8% of foreign buyers purchase U.S. homes priced at $1M or more. Chinese buyers had the highest median purchase price, at $476,500, and more than a third – 34 percent – bought a property in California. China and Canada retained their first and second place rankings in US residential sales dollar volume at $4.5 billion and $4.2 billion, respectively. India ($3.1 billion), Mexico ($2.9 billion), and the United Kingdom ($2.7 billion) were the last three countries in the top five on this metric.

我建议写信尽量简单直接 straight to the point. Andrea, I came to US XXX years ago from XXX. As an immigrant, I seriously consider the recent SB147 is nothing but a discrimination bill, which has no way to sugar coat it. I understand the initial concern of national security, I really do, but people''s rights got taken away solely due to country of origin is just flat out wrong and unacceptable. We judge people based on the characters, merit, not skin color, race, gender, country of origin... You must have heard that many times before, because that''s the basic principle of how we should live in society and how we treat each other. I don''t see this bill providing any dignity and respect to people from certain countries at all.
这个链接是给州长的留言: gov.texas.gov/apps/contact-us/opinion

Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!

lawful permanent residence and US Citizenship being exempt from restrictions of the bill are among amendments to the legislation that will be considered.
LOL
Taxation without representation
Taxation without representation
