一百多年前美国国力正如日中天，涌出这首著名爱国歌曲，”America the Beautiful”, 开头是这样的： O beautiful for spacious skies, For amber waves of grain, For purple mountain majesties Above the fruited plain! America! America! God shed His grace on thee And crown thy good with brotherhood From sea to shining sea! 一百多年后美国今天好像大不相同。个人觉得二战冷战风光后，9/11前后起美国走下坡是很明显的。9/11 20周年我觉得很多美国人内心是复杂的。我这个新美国人，也“仿古”以打油诗一首发泄一下内心情绪： O dreadful for Covid death highs, For a people facing pain, For a nation seeing divides, With a future uncertain! America! America! Has God forsworn thee, And sewn thy hardship with self-doubt, From sea to shining sea? 有点悲观，但此时此刻想起9/11到现在美国的事情，心情就是如此.....
