[Update Sun 7/18/21] Wave #5: Still watching a slow-motion train wreck. Covid increasing for 39 days. Positivity 20.03% = 21.8x June 9 (0.92%). Big private & public parties. People packed like sardines in bars and restaurants (I haven’t been inside any clubs). Crowded outdoor streets with <1% masks. I watched Covid growth in Wave #2 (Memorial Day, May 2020), and Wave #3 (Halloween, October 2020). Data showed within a week that Covid was growing after relaxing restrictions. Both times Los Angeles didn’t have the political willpower to contain Covid. Same thing happening again in Wave #5. Sigh. In wave #2, positivity maxed at 15.4% (7-day avg, July 8). In wave #3, positivity maxed at 52.48% (7-day-avg, Jan 4). I have no idea how high we’re going this time. UK and Israel are still increasing in their Delta waves, so no guidance there.
