谢谢提醒，我们开始也担心过foxgrass的事。也很困惑，在中国小时候好多人家独用狗尾巴草和猫咪玩。后来查了一下资料 这种我们小时候是叫狗尾巴草。拉丁名叫setaria pumila。英语里面好几种草包刮狗尾巴草都俗称 foxgrass。其中另外一种 foxgrass 叫hordeum foxgrass的（实际上植物分科上和狗尾巴草是不同种的）对狗特别危险，猫咪最好也小心。 The setaria pumila is also commonly known as the foxtail grass, but it should be not confused for the other kind of foxtail that is dangerous to pets! That type of foxgrass belongs to the genus hordeum. While the two do look a little similar, the hordeum foxgrass has longer, sharper spikes, that can embed themselves in a pet''s skin, and sometimes burrow even deeper. Please don''t let your pets play with those kinds of grasses! The setaria, by contrast, has much softer spikes that can''t really pierce the skin, and is actually more closely related to the millet grain we eat.
