看了很多帖子, 深深的为死者惋惜, 苦命了自己悲痛了亲人。 而这个责任真的不
应该再由他来承担。 更重要的是, 逝者已逝, 我们活着的人要为他和所有像他一样的人发声, 要说话, 要表明态度, 要斗争, 要争取正义。

而且要团结, 从我做起,从身边做起, 每个人做一点实际的事情,帮助现在的同事, 帮助正在找工作的新人, 网上社交圈里,多宣传阐述正确的观点,要团结一切可以
团结的力量, 就事论事, 不分散注意力, 不single out 个人, 种族, 把抗议活动的信息分享给同事, 这不是中国员工的问题, 这是事关build 一个积极健康的工作大环境的问题, 这是一个事关如何更好的尊重个人和生命的大讨论。 就像另外一个帖子说得好, “人无正义感就跟死了差不多”!

很欣慰有人牵头组织这次 “反bully 追悼逝者”活动, 觉得非常必要。 少数公司和
少数公司的领导者, 滥用他们在移民和IT企业相对高薪酬的特殊优势, exploit and discriminate 技术上talented 但是社交情商上内向的,造成员工和他们家庭的极大痛苦, 尤其是在 bottom occupational ladder 和第一代移民的群体。 这不仅伤害个人和公司的利益, 更重要的是, 这种行为从根本上就是错误的, 违反人的基本权利。

如果我们看的远, 看得深, 站在为正义,为所有同事说话的立场上, 我们就不会妄
自菲薄,简单盲目地归咎死者有欠缺,单纯地以为我们应该刷更多的题, 做题做的更
快更好, 上更多的课, 得更高的GPA, 或者PPT要做得和谁谁谁一样, 英文更好 。
。。 如果大环境中形成歧视,不尊重个人, 不尊重知识, 粗暴的认为给包裹就一
定可以买到talent和技术的风气, 个人是没有办法抗争的, 而且个人也必然被轻视,被歧视。 在这一点上, Facebook 自己最优秀的COO 的观点是值得我们学习借鉴的
。 她写了书, 发了文章, 大量的访谈, Sandberg 的用她个人的亲身经验告诉大家, 这不是个人的错。

"This is the lesson that not everything that happens to us happens because
of us" ....

1. Is PIP the right choice for the employees and the interest of
Facebook? what was the outcome PIP practices ( % terminated, % left on own choice) ? what was the feedback of PIP from employees and their
leader who went through the process? what are the cost benefit for the
company of Facebook ? ....

2. It's unfortunate that some employees find themselves in PIP. but
given the high caliber of Facebook recruits and employees, one has to ask
the question --- how many employees were eventually winding up in PIP?
what actions has Facebook taken to reduce the % of employees have to go
through PIP? what training and enablement Facebook has provided to its
employee to make sure they develop and grow successfully without PIP ?

3. What and who determines that someone needs to go through a PIP? What
review process is there to make sure this is the right decision being made
for the employee and the company?

4. How PIP process is structured? what measures have been implemented to ensure that it is more centered on encouraging employee to improve as
opposed to stress-oriented which can lead to unintended consequences like
this case?

5. What has Facebook done to ensure the right procedure was carried out
properly and consistently for the best positive outcome for the employee and Facebook?

6. What trainings have been provided to managers/HR who are responsible for leading employees through the PIP process? are these training adequate and sufficient?

7. in this particular case, has the entire process been reviewed ? has it been determined that there is no bias or discrimination involved ? what actions has Facebook taken to determine whether process as followed properly
?

8. What are the lessons learned? how does Facebook plan to share these
lessons to the company and employees?

EMPLOYEE SUPPORT

1. Has other opportunities been exploited and presented to employees before she/he is placed on PIP?

2. Once an employee is placed on PIP, what type of training and support are provided to the employee to make sure she/he is set up for success not
failure?

3. Have the employees (and their managers/HR) been educated on how to
properly guide employee to cope with stress ?

4. What resources does Facebook provide to employees who are going through
PIP and under stress?

5. Are employees provided opportunity to seek medical and psychological help when they are dealing with tremondous mental stress and even potentially
suicidal ?

6. What actions can be taken to prevent such tragedy from happening again to other Facebook employee? What are additional resources and educational
opportunities does Facebook plan to provide employees to help them go
through any life difficulty?
