我在2010年九月底十月初在中国度假17天的时间，新浪ishare上有中文的TA资料，很幸运得到了启蒙。回美国后又自学并运用了options 。由于没有风险控制，有三次几天就loss了一两万。所以2012年不炒了，只hold. 2017年底hold xiv从六块涨到上百块，我有一千股，所以所有的loss都算打平了。可惜没卖(actually sold 400 shares in 8/2013 to cover all the cost, and held the left 600 shares to let the profit run)，2018年2月xiv被挤兑回六块停盘。从这些血淋淋的教训学到了：

- 会卖才是王
- 一定一定一定要风验控制
- DT是心理游戏

非常可能。

但也可能只是下周短期回调。

我只有10%的仓位，包括370股，14个-10%股价put options，11个in the money call options，都是下周五到期。所以熊牛均不惧。

90%的现金DT，分五份做DCA， 绝不可能当猪。

恭喜lzmm, 希望lzmm能多详细说说, 也让我等小白学到点, 赚点饭钱。

上周二到昨天TNA都符合一个规律：因为TNA专业的推荐是DT，MM会趁着premarket吸低卖高，所以每天早上9:29ET看一下此时的range, 设个开盘后的买单在range的最低点，买到后设个卖单在range的最高点，一定能赚到钱，大多至少有1%. 注意这是因为这些天都是低开高走，所以能行。熊市能否适用未知。

下周二应该volume很小，会反转。千万不可用上面的策略。也不适合长期持股的抄底，不建议新手操作。 ---发自Huaren 官方 iOS APP

To newbies:

1. Start with paper trade. TDAmeritrade can open a paper trade account.

2. DCA ETFs such as SPY using no-fee brokers, such as Robinhood. It even allows you to buy fractions of a share. The disadvantage is that it only has mobile apps, no web version.
3. When opening a new account, always look for or negotiate rewards. Usually a new account can have 100 commission free trading or equivalent, and depending on your initial fund amount, you can get up to $600 reward by depositing $200k fund in the first 3 months.

Comparison of brokers & my personal preferences:

1. My main account is Merrill Edge, because it allows me to trade stocks without commission fee since combined BofA account exceeds some threshold. Selling ETFs has some trivial fee: 0.07 cents for 100 shares of TNA. It is normal commission fee is $6.95. The other most convenient feature is transferring fund between a BofA checking account and ME investment account is instant.

2. etrade and TdAmeritrade both have $6.95 commission fee.

3. My secondary account is etrade because it holds my unsold ESPPs. It is easy to transfer funds between a Stock Plan account and an individual account.

4. My third account is TdAmeritrade.

Why I hold several accounts even only ME is free most of the time?

1. I can apply various strategy at the same time, including long term/short term, long/short.

2. Different brokers have various limitation. My etrade account has the least options operation level. ME does not allow trading risky equities such as VXX, and does not allow writing cash secured puts. Only TdAmeritrade allows me to write cash secured puts.

Why this breakthrough makes me so excited to share?

A a mid-age coder, I have found myself hard to compete with bright young people (many are 20+ years younger) in the trade for energy level, time flexibility or mind speed/agility. The expectation is high when you got paid big packages, not matter it is one of FLAG or not. This worry and frustration had kept burning me out several times.

So I am happy that right after 6 months out of the trade, I have finally found one that fits my personality and life style. This does not come easily though. Because I started as early as 8/2009, on and off, and paid costly tuitions to the market.

Most TA books in OP are available in the bay area local public libraries, except “Technical Analysis Using Multiple Timeframes” by Brian Shannon. Try "Link+" if you can't find it in your local library.

I am starting to read "Getting Started in Technical Analysis" is an ebook available online. Will update my notes along.

最近的确4次低开高走 不过过去也不能代表以后的走势会重复。再有 最近夜里future低点都比日内低点低 比如1/17 夜里低点es 2596 开盘后日内低点2611 所以看夜里的range挂单貌似不太成立吧？楼主说的tna就是iwm3倍 那么看夜里期指rty也是一回事。

实战经验：只有1/18不成立。
TNA是daily mark到3xIWM. 所以闭市前市场应该是有缝隙的。

I am seriously day trading because:
- I don't work so I can dedicate all my time to monitor the realtime streaming charts.
- I traded stocks since 8/2009, and got wipeout several times. I have learned from my stupid mistakes about managing risks.
- I keep learning. I had spent 1.5 years actively learning DT and practicing.

因为你的investment time horizon要短很多，所以风险承受能力比起十几二十年前低
