Are tires really much cheaper at Costco? I change tires at costco, assuming that's a better choice. My friend recently changed his tires at a local store and spent more than 1/3 less. Granted, tires may be of different brands/qualities.

It actually depends on your lifestyle. My former colleague is a gym guy and on a diet so he almost only eats chicken breast/lean beef. As far as I know he goes to costco a lot for the chicken and organic ground beef, as well as some whey protein powder. He has no kids.
My hubby and I also keeps a membership before we have kid. I used to love their frozen fruits/veggies for smoothie. Packages of frozen fruits in usual supermarkets are just too small for me. I also bought a lot frozen desserts. I seldom bought their meat or household products as they are too much for us. But now we have a kid and I buy the tissues/paper towels a lot. I would say they got unbeatable price when they have promotions. The everyday price is not necessarily cheap. Sometimes they got good beauty deals, but not always, and I'm not a fan of it.
When I started driving not long ago, a friend of mine had a really old car full of troubles. He went to a number of bodyshops and almost gave up. Then a elder mechanic guy told him it may help to use better gasoline. What does "better" gas mean? Not the ones from costco or some supermarkets, just go to real oil company's station. My friend's car did get better. I don't know how reliable the words are, but I just stick to it.
Later I asked a friend who works at Shell on this question. He told me maybe just because costco buys gas from all companies and a mixture does no good to cars. He is not a mechanic anyway so we don't know the truth. But you see some people do claim that gas from costco has lower miles per gallon.
