That's because they are Christians and were born with an English last name; it is their family name. They didn't "change" their Indian name to English name when they came to America.

更新下: 以前在hedge fund 人少,所有同事老板加起来就几十个人,都认识,所以一直用中文名没什么问题。现在在大行了,我们组的人都分散的全国各地,在东海岸西海岸的都有,人多也有很多不认识,所以怕用中文名不太容易记。

还没正式开始新工作啦,老板让我先选好邮箱名字
那是改信了基督教的贱民。老印自己的姓氏可以看出种姓,所以这些人就干脆改成英文姓。而且这些人的二代经常起名还是用本国语言。
大部分人的concern应该都是中文名对老外来说真的很难记住,当然教同事怎么念没问题,但是大conference或者social什么的,之后很多时候对方都记不得你的名字了吧。social的效果事倍功半啊

想象一下见客户的时候,客户根本没兴趣学你的名字发音的,就蜜汁尴尬了:

拉倒吧,根本就不会有人记得你的名字的……
有时候要打别人名字 都给我拼晕了
