TORONTO – A 27-year-old Canadian man said, "Allah told me to come here and kill people" at a double stabbing at a military recruitment center in Toronto, police said Tuesday.
Toronto Police Chief Mark Saunders said Ayanie Hassan Ali had been charged with one count of attempted murder, two counts of assault with a weapon, two weapons charges and one assault charge.
Saunders said the suspect walked into the center on Monday and began striking a uniformed Canadian Forces member at the front desk before slashing him on the right upper arm. He said the suspect then attempted to slash a female member of the Forces before he was subdued.
"While at the scene, the accused stated that 'Allah told me to do this, Allah told me to come here and kill people,'" Saunders said.
Ben Carson the presidential candidate occasionally had difficulty expressing his thoughts clearly and effectively.
Ben Carson the presidential-candidate surrogate is no better.
During an appearance on the "Steve Malzberg Show" on Monday, Carson offered this gem when it came to assuring Republicans who were skeptical that Donald Trump has what it takes to be a good president.
"Even if Donald Trump turns out not to be such a great president, which I don't think is the case — I think he's going to surround himself with really good people — but even if he didn't, we're only looking at four years, as opposed to multiple generations and perhaps the loss of the American dream forever," Carson said.
Ouch.
And not only that; Carson even suggested he may have liked to endorse one of the other candidates rather than Trump.
Carson said he liked Sen. Marco Rubio and Gov. John Kasich but didn't think they could win the Republican nomination. He also said he didn't think that Sen. Ted Cruz could win in the general election.
DR. BEN CARSON: I do believe, and certainly in my discussions with Donald Trump, he does love America and he does want to be successful. And, he will surround himself with very good people.
NEWSMAX'S STEVE MALZBERG: And will one of them be Dr. Ben Carson?
Carson: I will be doing things as well, yeah.
Malzberg: In the administration.
Carson: Certainly in an advisory capacity.
Malzberg: That's been determined? You've, when you sat down with him that was discussed?
Carson: Yes.
CARSON: I have to look at what is practical and what is going to save this country and the American dream for the next generation. Is there another scenario that I would have preferred? Yes. But that scenario isn't available.
MALZBERG: With one of the other candidates you mean?

Better not to be over-optimistic...... It is rumored that some Dems (Hilary's fans mostly) strategically vote for Kasich to sabotage Trump. This is one of the reasons speculated ppl by why she lost Michigan to Sanders.............
Republican front-runner Donald Trump has received the equivalent of $1.9 billion in free advertising due to intense media coverage, a report said Tuesday.
The New York Times, using data from mediaQuant, says Trump’s free advertising is based on media coverage and the equivalent advertising rates.
Trump’s coverage pales to his nearest rival, Sen. Ted Cruz, who has earned $313 million.
The free media has helped Trump vault to the top of the Republican presidential standings despite the paltry $10 million in paid advertising, which is only the sixth highest of all candidates. Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush spent the most, $82 million, and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio spent the second-most at $55 million.
Trump is considered the front-runner to win the winner-take-all state of Florida on Tuesday night, and is in a tough race in Ohio, where Gov. John Kasich has a small lead in multiple polls.
On the Democratic side, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has earned $746 million to Sen. Bernie Sanders $321 million. They each have spent $28 million on ads.
Exit polls show a whopping 54 percent of late-deciders are going for Kasich in Ohio, compared with 28 for Trump. Kasich also is edging Trump, 41-38 percent among independents.
Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump 11m11 minutes ago Word is that, despite a record amount spent on negative and phony ads, I had a massive victory in Florida. Numbers out soon!
It's an educated guess. Early poll shows kasich and Trump are neck in neck(that would be GOP members that already made their decisions)......... then today's exit poll shows 50% +"late deciders" are voting for kasich , thus Kasich would have an edge over trump with late deciders and independents and win Ohio.
CNN reports the exit polls also found Mr. Trump and Mrs. Clinton winning their respective races in North Carolina.
