Under a 1994 federal law, supplements are exempt from the F.D.A.’s strict approval process for prescription drugs, which requires reviews of a product’s safety and effectiveness before it goes to market.
The law’s sponsor and chief architect, Senator Orrin G. Hatch, Republican of Utah, is a steadfast supporter of supplements. He has accepted hundreds of thousands of dollars in campaign contributions from the industry and repeatedly intervened in Washington to quash proposed legislation that would toughen the rules.
Mr. Hatch led a successful fight against a proposed amendment in 2012 that would have required supplement makers to register their products with the F.D.A. and provide details about their ingredients. Speaking on the floor of the Senate at the time, Mr. Hatch said the amendment was based on “a misguided presumption that the current regulatory framework for dietary supplements is flawed.”
我从来不买GNC的东西，源于几年前买了triple ginseng胶囊，吃了半瓶啥也没感觉到。
我对人参的效果还是很熟悉的，所以我意识到这个产品最起码是没有提取到有效的人参成分，所以连带对他家所有的产品都不喜欢。
其实要是真的有好的人参胶囊，会方便很多。每次回国，我都要背十几磅西洋参。

“关于GNC, 楼主每年参加他们的供应商年会，所以很清楚知道他们对质量的要求，在这里给大家分享一下：
GNC 自己的加工商位于南卡，50%左右的产品是他们自己加工，也就是说50%的产品他们自己负责采购原料，检测，加工成成品销售。
这50%的质量控制水平也一般，在整体行业来讲比一般的小公司好，但比很多大公司要差。基本只检测简单的微生物，重金属，对植物类的ID鉴别
一般，所以他如果从原料供应商手里买到假货是完全可能的因为他自己不检测这一块。
另外的50%产品 GNC 是在外面找不同加工商加工的，那这一块的质量控制完全由加工商说了算，他自己根本没办法控制，或者也许他知道但是不愿意深究。
这个加工商在东部很大，实验室也很漂亮各种仪器都有但是基本不检测，所以他们给GNC做出来的东西就更加没有保障了！
举个例子 关于锯叶棕，GNC每年采购大量生粉，但是近3年佛罗里达原料歉收，籽今年的价格是$15.00/kg 。但是GNC只愿意出6个美金，你说他能拿到真货？
除非原料商当活雷锋给他，要不然只能给他假货。“

那有哪家是值得推荐的呢？
差不多一年维生素爸妈一个人就是120多刀。还有我妈吃得深海鱼油。是买的Nordic Natural的。给我外婆吃的维生素也是买这家的小熊糖。因为这家是我看了好多软糖维生素唯一一个不用玉米糖浆用蔗糖得。
其他的公司也好不到哪里去。我至少知道另外两间大公司被告过，而且确证他们的东西含量不足。
一点小知识，维生素里面的含量随时间而减少，生产厂家不能放太多进去有中毒的问题，所以上架的含量是保证的（这个要抽检的，之前也要上报批的），到过期前含量也应该保证但这事就难说了。所以还是买新鲜的别存。
之前有mm说打嗝的问题，新鲜的鱼油一定不会有出现吃了打嗝有明显鱼腥味的问题，就像刚出海的活三文鱼不会是腥的一样，不过市场上确实不容易得到如此新鲜的鱼油，就是因为加工储运过程中极易被氧化。
我每次吃都要费好大功夫。。。
