KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (TheBlaze/AP) — The Malaysian military has radar data showing the missing Boeing 777 jetliner changed course and made it to the Malacca Strait, hundreds of kilometers (miles) from the last position recorded by civilian authorities, according to a senior military official.
The development injects more mystery into the investigation of the disappearance of Saturday’s flight, and raises questions about why the aircraft was not transmitting signals detectable by civilian radar.
Reuters put it more bluntly:
That would appear to rule out sudden catastrophic mechanical failure, as it would mean the plane flew around 500 km (350 miles) at least after its last contact with air traffic control, although its transponder and other tracking systems were off.

问:一架飞机如何定位?
答:有两个系统:一是通过雷达站。雷达站发射信号,从信号的返回可判断距离、角度,从而定位。但雷达站的监测范围有限,取决于信号强度及其它外部因素。无论如何,到地球的弯面,雷达站就无能为力了。在越洋远程飞行中,飞机很快就离开了雷达站的监测范围。二是飞机自身系统,不断向空中交通管制部门发送地点和飞行高度。但是,只在最远约370公里的距离内有效。
问:在这一距离之外,空中交通管制部门如何获知一架飞机的位置?
答:每隔一定的距离,我们就在规定的通讯点发送我们的位置。方法是通过无线电,经常是手动操作,或者,像在北大西洋,是通过卫星自动传输数据。我们同时也会发送预期抵达下一个通讯点的时间。在北大西洋,通讯点比较密集,在南大西洋,两个通讯点之间最长可能需要1个小时15分钟。
问:在两个通讯点之间,地面人员如何确定飞机的位置?
答:通过预计。路线和速度是已知的,从上一个通讯点的数据可以计算出接下来每个时刻飞机大致的位置。
问:难道没有其它的定位方法吗?
答:当然,大部分飞机都安装有全球定位系统(GPS)。但在海上不像在陆地上,到处都有移动电话基地站,卫星连线等等。距离海岸100公里,手机已经收不到信号,也无法用来定位。

问:为什么马航的这架飞机在精确定位中无法找到?
答:在这一事件中确实很难准确查出这架飞机的具体位置。如果一架飞机在高空解体,碎片会分散在很大的面积里。许多碎片不会漂浮在水面上,而是沉入海底。比如,洛克比空难中碎片分布在约200平方公里的范围内。在海中还有风和洋流的影响。
问:从最后一个通讯地点的信息不能较准确推测发生这一状况的位置吗?
答:有报道称,这架飞机在消失前掉头,据称是雷达画面显示的。果真如此,原本应该可以相对清楚地确定飞机的位置。这的确有矛盾。但是,如果是出现技术故障,或者启动水上迫降程序,那么,飞行方向还会发生改变。或许飞行员因为出现问题而驶向其它机场,或尝试靠近陆地。
问:有没有可能这架飞机在雷达没有监测到的情况下降落在其它地点?
答:理论上有,但可能性极小。因为一旦靠近海岸,就会再次进入雷达覆盖范围,从而出现在屏幕上。此外,陆地上的人也应当可以目击到这架飞机。
问:如果始终可以通过无线电联络,为什么没有收到马航这架飞机发出的紧急求救?
答:对此我只能猜测。有些情形非常危急,以至于没有时间发出紧急求救,不过也有可能是技术故障导致无法发出紧急求救。在紧急情况下的原则是:先飞行,再无线电联络。发送紧急求救是次要的。

问:有没有在海上遇到紧急情况的预案?
答:对大部分技术问题都有详细的规定程序,很多是飞机制造商确定的。当然,具体操作总是由飞行员决定。对于非技术问题的紧急情况,也有推荐方案,但每个具体情况都各有不同。
去看了下吴致远的微薄,不确定飞机是否被劫持,不过应该就在马六甲海域,有可能还完好无损。期待虚惊一场~

飞机没有突发灾难性的机械故障,而是自主关闭了通讯设备,然后还飞行了500公里以上。
