I heard same story last Aug from local radio when I was in Atlanta. A laid-off worker went to the parking lot of his formal office and shot his two formal co-workers/managers to death before he committed suicide subsequently.
It has nothing to do with 民主国家. In many 民主国家 (or most 民主国家), it's illegal to own a gun. My Australian coworker said that it was one of the biggest contribution of their former primer minister to make it illegal to own a gun in Australia which helped reduce the crime rate significantly.
