Please use the file corresponding to your kindle model suffixed by -3.2.1, the other one won't work on these newer FW versions, while the -3.2.1 file won't work on older FW versions. Check your Settings page if you're unsure of what FW your Kindle is running.

Now, eject your Kindle, and go to [HOME] -> [MENU] > Settings -> [MENU] > Update Your Kindle. It should be quick. (And, on FW 2.x only, it should FAIL (With a U006 error, in the bottom left corner of the screen). It's completely normal, intended, and harmless).
And that's it, your Kindle is now ready to install custom hacks!
There is one thing I want to add to this post. I had try to jailbreak, but failed many times the night before, the error code is U004.
The reason is -- I had upload books and musics to kindle before I tried jailbreak. Reset the system to original system and try again, the jailbreak would go through.

昨天BestBuy Kindle 3 3G+Wifi with Special Offer特价，帮国内的亲戚朋友扫了3台。花了一晚上帮他们刷机刷字体刷输入法，又帮这儿的两个朋友越狱了。想着干脆写个简明教程，回报华人，也防止自己以后忘记怎么弄了~
有人会说直接装多看就行了。可是我有点小强迫症，喜欢原装系统，所以只有越狱啦~首先是越狱的目的。我越狱的目的很简单，希望能够输入中文，能够看中文书，能够浏览中文网页。Kindle虽说号称支持中文，但是显示简体汉字的时候很多字是显示不出来的，如果采用Debug的方法修改Locale，虽然可以显示中文，但是中文字体发虚，颜色变浅，笔画粗细不一，很难看。至于其他刷机可以实现的功能，比如安装音乐播放器等，有可能造成系统不稳定；而安装UsbNetworing以实现wifi传输文件，对我来说意义不大，而且过程太复杂了。所以我就只刷了字体和输入法，对我而来够用了。

关于越狱
现在Kindle的最新系统版本是3.3。拿到手之后，先register，然后连上wifi，等Kindle自动升级到3.3版本（关于如何查看系统软件版本，按Home-->按Setting，在屏幕右下角有小字显示）
等到你的Kindle显示是最新版本了，就可以开始越狱啦。具体步骤如下
简单说来，就是下载安装文件包，找到你的Kindle所对应的Jailbreak install文件，然后复制到Kindle文件夹的根目录，弹出设备，在Home页面按Menu，选择Setting，在新页面继续按Menu，选择Update Your Kindle，就大功告成了~
注意，所有的刷机和越狱文件都有相对应的uninstall文件。请保留好这些文件。将来随时可以刷回来~

大头，就是linkfonts。我是先把原系统这两个文件夹备份，然后用新字体的etc和fonts文件夹完全代替了原来系统自带的，然后再把原来系统fonts里的文件都拷回到新的fonts文件夹里，这个过程中会有几个老的文件比新字体的文件newer and larger，这样就选择还是用原系统的文件。

一般说来register之后会自动下载升级文件，然后自动升级和重启的。如果实在不行，可以去Amazon官网下载升级包，手动更新。

刷了字体。我jail break的时候装的是k3gb 3.2.1，字体就是这样刷的，最后覆盖的时候因为几个文件重复，点了yes。最后拼音输入法我选的是k3g，有什么问题吗？

kindle会自己选择识别相应的文件安装（安装成功后原安装文件会消失）， 再把剩下的安装文件删掉就可以了

我越狱之前也往Kindle里面放了文件，没出现问题。Anyway，解决了就好~
