Hemphill pushed past police lines three times as the attack began. She was filmed asking for assistance from police after being in the crowd, stating that she had "had surgery," before going to the doors of the capital, disobeying the officer who had told her to rest by a gate.[6] She was later seen in the Capitol rotunda, telling fellow rioters to "come on in, come on, have fun… This is your house!"[2] She later stated again that she was hurt, telling officers that she had "40 stitches".[6] She was later escorted out by law enforcement.[2]

中央社美国总统川普上任后赦免了2021年国会山庄暴动案参与者，但参与其中的71岁老妇韩普希尔（Pamela Hemphill）告诉BBC，她拒绝川普的赦免，并称“我们那天做错了”。
韩普希尔已经认罪，并已入狱服刑60天。她告诉英国广播公司（BBC），不应该赦免2021年1月6日国会山庄暴动案参与者。
她指出：“接受赦免只会侮辱国会警察、法治，当然也侮辱了我们的国家”、“我之所以认罪，是因为我有罪，而且接受赦免也会助长他们的情感操纵和虚假陈述。”
韩普希尔曾被社群媒体用户称为“Maga奶奶”（Maga granny），Maga为川普“让美国再次伟大”（Make America Great Again）口号的缩写。
但韩普希尔如今表示，她认为川普政府试图“篡改历史，而我不希望成为其中一部分”。
根据“纽约时报”（The New York Times），韩普希尔现年71岁，来自爱达荷州波伊西（Boise）。
