这起窃案发生在5月26日凌晨，一名男子踹破麵包店玻璃门后小心翼翼地进入，但他似乎并不担心被发现，在进店后没有赶紧搜括财物，而是坐在座位发呆，彷彿是在等待麵包店员工来服务他。 大约坐了15分钟后，男子离开座位但仍然还没行窃，他去找了水桶和拖把，开始清理起被他破门而入时弄乱的环境。爱玛表示，他的清洁工作做得并不好，但至少很努力，“老实说，我喜欢这种至少还有礼貌的罪犯。” 这名窃贼在店内逗留了一个多小时，最后拿了6个巧克力口味的杯子蛋糕离开，而且还用店内手机自拍，把自己的长相留给业者。爱玛事后已经报案，并表示当警察看到窃贼的行为时，笑得乐不可支。
