邻近亚特兰大的奥尔巴尼(Albany)居民琳黛·布朗(Lyndea Brown)开车前来致意，并表示：“我们不再有这样的总统和第一夫人，他们真正的在地人，知道大家种植玉米和花生维生，为付健保费而奋斗的辛苦。”
远自芝加哥而来的高中辅导员格林(Brendan Green)对于卡特夫人生前致力消除心理疾病的污名化，表达由衷感谢：“她是该领域的先驱者，是多么伟大的成就。”
从达拉斯开车12小时前来致意的护士伊丽莎白·劳迪格(Elizabeth Laudig)也盛赞卡特夫人生前对医护人员的关注：“她只是默默致力于让世界变得更美好，你知道，她不是一位浮夸或奢侈的第一夫人，她很谦虚，善良，勤奋，为大家服务，因为她关心大众。”
另外卡特中心也表示，尽管99岁卡特过去10个月来接受居家安宁照护，不过28日下午在亚特兰大爱默蕾大学(Emory University)格伦纪念教堂(Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church)举行的公开葬礼，卡特也来了。
同时包括总统拜登夫妇、副总统贺锦丽、前总统柯林顿夫妇、前第一夫人萝拉·布希(Laura Bush)、米雪儿·奥巴马(Michelle Obama)、梅兰妮亚·特朗普(Melania Trump)等政要名流都出席公开葬礼，至于私人葬礼则安排29日在平原镇举行。
这位 99 岁的老人望着来宾，与梅拉尼娅-川普（Melania Trump）、米歇尔-奥巴马（Michelle Obama）、劳拉-布什（Laura Bush）和吉尔-拜登（Jill Biden）等所有在世的第一夫人，以及乔-拜登总统和比尔-克林顿前总统一起在前排就座。
在卡特抵达仪式现场之前，梅拉尼娅-川普和米歇尔-奥巴马一同步入会场。两位前第一夫人进入追悼会现场，劳拉-布什、希拉里-克林顿、比尔-克林顿、第一夫人吉尔-拜登和总统乔-拜登紧随其后。
