美国司法部长贾兰德（Merrick Garland）今天宣布，美国政府依贩运用于制造芬太尼（fentanyl）的化学原料为名，起诉4家中国公司和8名隶属这些公司的中国主管及员工。
法新社报导，其中2名中国人已遭逮捕。美国司法部扩大打击这种合成鸦片类药物，这类药物过去10年已导致数十万人服药过量而死亡。
这是美国首次在境内针对贩运芬太尼先驱化学品起诉中国公司。
贾兰德指出：“这些公司及其员工故意合谋生产致命的芬太尼，并在美国进行分销。”
他说：“仅其中1家中国化学公司已运送200多公斤的芬太尼相关先驱化学原料至美国，目的是为制造50公斤的芬太尼，如此的芬太尼致命剂量足以杀死2500万美国人。”
