This event indicates that sino-US relationship is not competition anymore. It is cold war 2.0 version. It is a conflict. It is an invasion of US air territory. A Chinese airship hovered over US air territory for days, which entirely woke up US people：CCP is an enemy of US!

美军4日出动2架F-22猛禽战机，其中一架发射飞弹击落中国间谍气球。值得一提的是，两架战机呼号为”FRANK01”、”FRANK02”，向第一次世界大战美国空军王牌飞行员小法兰克路克（Frank Luke Jr.）致敬，当年此人曾击落14颗德军侦察气球。

美国北方司令部发言人玛蒂雅丝（Elizabeth Mathias）表示，这次战机使用的呼号FRANK，是为了致敬美国一战王牌飞行员、拥有”亚利桑那气球克星”称号的小法兰克路克。此人当年在短短8日成功击落14颗德军侦察气球及4架飞机，仅出击10次就取得这18项胜利。
一战期间，小法兰克路克是第一位获得荣誉勋章的飞行员，也是单日击落5架以上航空器的”一日王牌”飞行员（Ace airmen）之一。如今亚利桑那州家乡的”卢克空军基地”就是以他的名字命名。
