法国警方表示，法国西部小镇尼奥尔(Niort)发生一起特斯拉电动车的死亡事故，该车撞上路标并起火，车上4人不幸死亡。
美联社报导，警方发言人霍劳(Eric Hoarau)表示，事故发生在週六晚间，这辆车可能过快而自撞路边标牌，但具体情况仍有待确定。他说：“地面上的痕迹和一个被切断的路标显示，可能有超速问题。”
但是没有目击者，这使得调查变得複杂。包括驾驶和三名乘客都未能逃生，电池受损后起火。
