《纽约时报》指出，彭帅2日晚间在她的微博发文，描述自己与张高丽在一次性侵后开始的断断续续的不伦关系。彭帅的帖子很快就被删除，连她的名字、甚至“网球”等词都不太能搜索到，反映出在中国讨论共党领导人的不当行为仍是禁区。
现居美国新泽西州的维权人士吕频，是现已被封的中文论坛“女权之声”创始人。她在电话受访时说MeToo在中国的影响已累积3年，3年前，当第一批女性开始谈论她们的经历时，没有人会想到会波及到如此高位者。
