Moscow (/ˈmɒskoʊ/ MOS-koh) is a city in northern Idaho along the state border with Washington, with a population of 25,435 at the 2020 census. It is the principal city in the Moscow, Idaho Micropolitan Statistical Area, which includes all of Latah County. The city contains over 60% of the county's population, and while the university is Moscow's dominant employer, the city also serves as an agricultural and commercial hub for the Palouse region.
Along with the rest of northern Idaho, Moscow is in the Pacific Time Zone. The elevation of its city center is 2,579 feet (786 m) above sea level. Two major highways serve the city, passing through the city center: US-95 (north-south) and ID-8 (east-west). 美国爱达荷大学惊传命案，4名大学生被发现全都陈尸在校外宿舍，4名死者是好友身份，其中一对男女是情侣。警方对外宣布案件是一起凶杀案，但暂不对外透露细节，4人死因引发外界好奇，也在校园引发骚动。
莫斯科市警方13日接到民众报案，前往位于爱达荷大学附近宿舍发现，4名大学生全都昏倒在房间中，后来被宣告全都已经死亡。4名死者分别是20 岁男子伊森(Ethan Chapin)、21 岁女友麦迪森(Madison Mogen)，与20 岁女同学夏娜(Xana Kernodle)和 21 岁的凯莉(Kaylee GonCalves)。
重大命案传出让大学立刻发出警告，警方在现场调查期间，请学生暂时待在原地1小时，直到警方确定周边地区没有威胁。网络上流传，就在4人被发现死亡之前，凯莉还在网络上发布4人合照，没想到几小时后4人就突然死亡。
莫斯科市长贝特奇(Art Bettge)后来表示，4人死亡与激情犯罪(crime of passion)、无意义的暴力事件有关，“要处理如此严重的犯罪十分困难”，但拒绝进一步透露细节，也不愿意证实是否正在追捕凶嫌，案件仍待调查中。
