继洛杉矶因强制逮捕非法移民而引起民众抗议游行后，美国多地也随之掀起反对移民政策的示威浪潮，德州首府奥斯汀也于当地时间 9 日爆发示威，数百名群众走上街头，谴责移民与海关执法局（ICE）针对无证移民的全国性扫荡行动，要求终止“种族驱逐政策”，现场甚至出现警方与部分抗议民众发生推挤与冲突。
据《福斯新闻》报导，当日的抗议活动最初在德州议会大厦前集结，参与者高举标语、挥舞旗帜并高呼口号，之后队伍步行前往奥斯汀市中心的联邦拘留设施外抗议，表达对被拘留移民的声援。
自 6 日以来，ICE 等联邦机构在加州洛杉矶县展开大规模扫荡行动，针对无证移民实施逮捕，过程中，数度爆发执法人员与当地居民之间的肢体冲突，引发民间与地方政府高度不满。
加州州长纽森于 8 日表示，针对总统川普下令部署 2,000 名加州国民警卫队至洛杉矶一事，正式向联邦政府提起诉讼。美军北方司令部 9 日则指出，已有约 700 名海军陆战队完成动员，并与部署中的国民警卫队进行整合，以“保护联邦机构及相关人员”。
据报导，反 ICE 示威已扩散至达拉斯、旧金山、纽约、芝加哥、休士顿等城市，抗议者大多为持合法身份的公民或移民权益倡议者，其中甚至包括在周五因声援打工族群、遭 ICE 拘留的 SEIU 加州主席大卫.韦尔塔（David Huerta），经过周末大批支持者在联邦拘留中心外集结要求放人，他已于 9 日获释。
