“Certainly the former president is in the far-right area, he’s certainly an authoritarian, admires people who are dictators — he has said that. So he certainly falls into the general definition of fascist, for sure," Kelly said.
Kelly, who first joined the Trump administration as homeland security secretary and later was White House chief of staff from July 2017 until early 2019, also said Trump had spoken positively about Adolf Hitler.
“He commented more than once that, you know, that Hitler did some good things, too,” Kelly said.
The Atlantic reported earlier Tuesday that Trump had privately admired Hitler's generals "who were totally loyal to him" and followed orders, privately saying in a conversation at the White House, “I need the kind of generals that Hitler had."
President Biden said on Tuesday that former President Donald J. Trump was a threat to democracy and should be locked up, before quickly amending his comment to say he meant locked up “politically.”
“We got to lock him up,” Mr. Biden said at the campaign office, where he dropped by after a speech on health care elsewhere in Concord.
Seeming to catch himself, he quickly added: “Politically lock him up. Lock him out. That’s what we have to do.”
Mr. Biden was making an argument he has for years about Mr. Trump’s lack of commitment to the Constitution. “Our democracy is at stake,” he said. “Think about it. Think about what would happen if Donald Trump wins this election.”

what John Bolton Says Trump Isn't A Fascist
“I think it’s a mistake to get into a controversy over whether Trump meets the definition of fascist or not,” he told the news network’s Kaitlan Collins. “I think his behavior alone is troubling enough. To be a fascist, you have to have a philosophy. Trump’s not capable of that. You know, Adolf Hitler wrote a profoundly troubling book called ‘Mein Kampf’ – ‘My Struggle.’ Donald Trump couldn’t even read his way all the way through that book, let alone write something like it.”
