1日美国达美航空公司（Delta Air Lines）一架客机上，一名乘客“一路腹泻”，排泄物甚至“滴满”机舱走道，舱内充斥“可怕的”屎味，导致机长在起飞2小时后紧急返航，机长通知塔台时表示机上爆发“生物危害”事件。
综合美国财经内幕（Business Insider）网站、英国《每日邮报》（Daily Mail）报导，达美航空一架空中巴士A350型客机，1日晚间8时47分从乔治亚州起飞，飞往西班牙巴塞隆纳，不过就在起飞2小时后，机长突然宣布返航。
机长在通知塔台时表示：“这是生物危害事件，一位乘客一路拉。”
客机约在晚间10时40分抵达亚特兰大，地勤人员随后上机清理，客机5小时后又起飞，并在当地时间下午5时10分抵达巴塞隆纳，比原定时间晚了8小时。
达美航空回覆媒体询问时，坦承机上发生“医疗事件”，但未说明事件细节，“我们的团队快速、安全地彻底清理飞机，并且将旅客送达目的地”。
网络上也有人发文描述这架达美客机的机上情形，网友Dee W表示：“我的伴侣就在机上！蛮糟的，它滴到了走道上，闻起来很可怕，上面使用的香草味除菌剂只是让味道闻起来像香草屎味。”
有网友表示，看过机上照片，排泄物真的是滴了“整个”走道；另一名乘客附上该班机的厕所照片，画面显示厕所地板洒了巧克力色的深色黏稠液体，一名男子穿著布希鞋踩在上头，目前无法证实这张照片的真实性。
Dee W指出，救护车将生病乘客载走，“我的伴侣说，他们凌晨2点重新上机后，机舱比第一次上机时乾淨，也没有味道！”
另一名乘客赫特（John Hurdt）也大讚：“我和我太太也在机上，本来很髒，机师返航是正确决定，地勤人员换了新的地毯。考量到当时的状况，地勤人员、空服员及机师都很棒。”
